Unify Facility Infrastructure

With the power of the Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent buildings can now integrate mass notification systems to provide building occupants and managers situational awareness and support towards business continuity. The Alertus System integrates and leverages existing building systems and technology to bring critical information to everyone on site.

Alertus Integrations in Action

With our commitment to providing the best system unification available, we partner with several major vendors, integrators, installers, etc., to make integrating your notification systems and devices effortless.

Since Proactive Lightning Advisories notify through your Alertus System, SkyGuard is easy for your emergency response and IT teams to support.

AccuWeather Skyguard® Integration

  • AccuWeather SkyGuard Proactive Lightning Advisories, integrated with the Alertus System, allow organizations to predict when lightning will strike within eight miles of a given location, providing safety managers up to 20 minutes of lead time.

  • Reach everyone across your facility—at their desks, outside, in classrooms/conference rooms, and in loud/highly trafficked areas—via any alerting modality connected to your network.

Streamline critical communication procedures and ensure timely information delivery throughout your enterprise by automating notification and alert mechanisms within the Genetec Platform and Alertus Server.

Genetec Security Center Integration

  • The Alertus and Genetec Security Center integration unifies Genetec’s powerful security events and alarms with the Alertus System to generate and disseminate visual and audible notifications to security stakeholders' PCs or mobile devices. Simultaneously, endpoints such as IP speakers, Alert Beacons®, or Digital Signage notify the public with precise, actionable instructions.

This software integration combines state-of-the-art gunshot monitoring systems with Alertus’ powerful alerting capabilities.

Gun Detection Integration

  • Alertus’ gun detection integration enables end-users to receive real-time gunshot events from the third-party system with all relevant incident information, including camera recordings, location, zone information, and the number of shots taken.

Additional Integration Capabilities

Unify your facility infrastructure and IT assets to streamline emergency communication and response procedures with Alertus’ industry-leading integration capabilities.

Camera Systems

Combine the power of smart camera video analysis with Alertus' Mass Notification System to automatically identify threats and seamlessly activate emergency notifications. Alertus offers integration with various third-party vendors’ network-based cameras, audio systems, video recorders, and video management systems, including Motorola, Axis Communications, Bosch, and more. Alertus seamlessly interfaces with most third-party solutions and products "out of the box" and scales to fit your organization's needs.

Use Case: A smart camera system picks up the face of a disgruntled past employee who is not permitted in the facility. This detection can then trigger the Alertus System to notify emergency personnel or all staff in the area where the employee was spotted.

Life Safety And Fire Systems

Alertus offers bilateral integration with life safety and fire systems with the Alertus Fire Alarm Control Panel Interface. This innovative interface takes fire alarm event information from the fire panel, applies smart logic/transformation technologies, and broadcasts messages over multiple communication paths.

Use Case: In the event of a fire, the fire pull would activate the fire alarms and trigger evacuation instructions to computer desktops, VoIP phones, and intelligible text-to-speech announcements over the PA system.

Building Automation

Many smart buildings now automate their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within their IoT systems. Integrating the Alertus System with your building automation system provides unparalleled situational awareness of the building.

Use Case: Toward the end of the school day, a K-12 campus experiences a lockdown situation. The Alertus System recognizes the lockdown notification that was activated and communicates to the building automation system, ensuring the HVAC system maintains full capacity levels instead of automatically powering down.

Access Control

Initiating and communicating critical information during an emergency requires a streamlined process. By integrating Alertus with third-party access control and building management systems, security teams can detect when access control is triggered and utilize it to lock down secure spaces, such as front doors, during an emergency.

Use Case: A disgruntled employee scans their access card, "checking in" to the facility. The front desk employee notices their demeanor and initiates a lockdown through Alertus’ discrete USB Multi Panic Button. The building’s Alertus System is triggered, notifying first responders and building occupants of the incident and how to proceed.

Common Alerting Protocol (CAP)

  • The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), a digital format for exchanging emergency alerts, allows a consistent alert message to be disseminated simultaneously over multiple communications pathways.

  • The Alertus System’s design focuses on web standard interoperability and compatibility. We are proud to be one of the first companies to support version 1.2 of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) specification, and we are committed to supporting all future releases.

  • When the Alertus System processes a CAP file, it constructs and disseminates a detailed alert notification using the core CAP fields (i.e., identifier, duration, headline, description, etc.). Users can set up and configure multiple alert profiles to activate when a received CAP alert meets the specified urgency/severity/certainty criteria. The Alertus System will only activate devices within that area if the CAP alert specifies a geographic location.

Compatible Inbound Integrators

  • Alertus API

    • Alertus uses SOAP and REST APIs to enable third-party systems to communicate with the Alertus system (the preferred inbound integration method for single-point activation).
