The Center for Intelligent Buildings showcases integrated systems from Alertus Technology Partners alongside Alertus’ Mass Notification solutions and products, bringing a cutting-edge display of solutions directly to you.

The Center for Intelligent Buildings demonstrates the possibilities for integrating historically disparate systems into a critical incident ecosystem to protect people and assets during an active shooter incident, tornado, and other threats.

Initially designed for Johns Hopkins University as a high-tech educational facility, the Alertus Center for Intelligent Buildings will deliver its next chapter as a technology-driven hub for educating global safety and emergency management professionals.

The building will now serve as a destination for safety and business continuity professionals to experience the convergence of intelligent building technologies, which include:

Critical Incident Automation
Experience: Active Shooter

  • In an active shooter incident, surveillance cameras can pick up the suspect and prompt an alert over the PA or speaker system while simultaneously locking or unlocking entryway and elevator doors to restrict the shooter’s movement and notifying emergency responders. 

  • When an AED cabinet is opened, integrated cameras and sensors can provide responders with real-time monitoring and location information.

Education and Training

Hands-on Training

A fully operational Emergency Operations Center allows users to learn, test, and perfect emergency response plans before applying them to their organizations. Installers and integrators can familiarize themselves with the latest solutions on the market before heading to customer sites.

Collaborative Spaces

Large classroom and conference spaces are available for team training, educational seminars, regional and national industry training programs, and community events.
