Alertus Technologies Hosts “Downtown Safety Summit” at Center for Intelligent Buildings

Downtown Partnership Convened Business and Civic Leaders for Collaborative Approach to Improve Public Safety

Baltimore, MD (June 14, 2023) – Alertus Technologies, a leader in emergency mass notification solutions, is pleased to have hosted the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB) and key business and civic leaders for the Downtown Safety Summit. The Downtown Partnership event, which convened 170 individuals to collaborate on public safety and increased coordination and communication, was held yesterday at the Alertus Center for Intelligent Buildings, the IoT technology hub in downtown Baltimore designed for the safety and security industry.

The Downtown Safety Summit aimed to establish crime reduction priorities, provide important updates on the Squeegee Collaborative progress and the Mayor’s violence reduction plan, and re-imagine how new approaches to violence reduction might build a safer and more equitable Baltimore. Panelists, presenters, and attendees included civic and safety leaders such as Shelonda Stokes, President of the DPOB; Brandon M. Scott, Mayor of Baltimore; Ivan J. Bates, States Attorney for Baltimore City; Richard Worley, Interim Police Commissioner, Baltimore Police Department; Jason Volk, CEO of Alertus Technologies; Max Poma, Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office; Captain Scott Brillman, City of Baltimore Office of Emergency Management; and Thomas Leone, Chief of Police for University of Maryland, Baltimore.
